This light comedy finds a Czech taxi driver taking his family on a weekend outing in the country. His wife, daughter-in-law, son and two grandchildren are the passengers who disturb the solitude of two young lovers. While the women attend the horse races, the father sits home getting drunk and watching football. As Homolka bought a new car, his family feels to be hoity toity. However, they can't agree on the destination of the first trip. Grandpa and Ludva propose the football match and grandma with Hedus want to visit some castles. At a time they receive a message from great grandmother that great grandfather is dying. This is third story about the Homolkas family. This time, Homolkas go to winter holidays. They want a lot of fun for a little money. At the beginning they make a promise to each other to be kind on themselves. The moment they arrive, the fist complication appears, because other guests of the hotel want to swap their rooms. Jakub (Juraj Nvota) lives in a rural Slovakian village, and is the boy who delivers the mail to the neighboring gypsy settlement. A good-natured and friendly boy, he falls in love with a gypsy girl, Jolanka (Iva Bittova), and she with him. However, their parents and communities are dead-set against a union between these two, and local toughs beat up the girl.

Twelve-year-old Alena has had to leave the countryside on a blazing hot summer day and come back home to a block of flats on the outskirts of Prague. She spends most of the day on her own, amusing herself daydreaming and imagining, on the blazing hot building roof awaiting the rain. Her mother is at work all day and her friends are still away on holidays.
