The new Chemistry lecturer in college, Nandakumar Varma (Mammootty), finds it tough to discourage student Sruthi (Annie) who has taken a fancy to him, even after introducing Sruthi to his disabled girlfriend Uma (Shobana), whom Nandakumar had been nursing back to health & for whom he had been remaining a bachelor. Upset over the prospect of losing Nandakumar, Sruthi rebukes Uma, causing her to have a stroke, which worsens her situation. A fully bedridden Uma now asks Nandakumar to marry Sruthi.

Bobby Kurien, a young boy, who runs away from home after witnessing a murder, comes to Kerala & ends up with street performer Madhavankutty (Jagadish) & his party. Madhavankutty takes Bobby under his wing & provides for him, but soon Bobby stumbles into the very folks he ran away from.

Anupama (Manju Warrier), born into a wealthy family, leaves everything to marry Rajeevan (Jayaram) despite her family's stiff opposition. Later they have twin boys, but Rajeevan gives up one child to childless couple Venugopal (Murali) & Devi (Urmila Unni), without Anupama's knowledge, after Devi had had her 4th miscarriage. However, overcome with guilt, Rajeevan confides to Anupama, but a livid Anupama leaves home & gives Rajeevan an ultimatum to only come see her after getting her baby back.

Set in the 70s through 90s Malabar in Kerala, Thangal (Jagathi Sreekumar), a liberal minded Muslim, raises the son of a Hindu woman who died while under his care, along with his own daughter. And after his daughter Pookunju Beevi grows up, he gets her to learn Nangiarkoothu, a traditional Hindu temple art form, all of which doesn't bode well with Thangal's conservative brethren, especially after the 1992 Babri Masjid incident, which had further aggravated the tensions between Hindus & Muslims.

Set against the backdrop of Kerala's cutthroat 24x7 news media, the movie is about two parallel romance stories - one between two TV anchors, Roopesh Nambiar (Dileep) & Kabani (Nikhila Vimal), at a news channel called 'Nalamidam', & two 50+ year old doctors, Sarayu (Suhasini) & Satheesh (Sashi Kumar), who were lovers in medical school, but who got separated & was meeting again after a long time.

James (Prithviraj) & Alice (Vedika) fall in love & get married, but after having a kid & slipping into mundane married life, their troubles start. James gets busy with work & doesn't get time for family, which ends up in Alice filing for divorce. At this juncture, James has a car accident which puts him in a coma. His spirit encounters St. Peter (Sijoy Varghese) who walks him through what he did wrong with Alice in life. Alice, meanwhile on earth, also realizes how important James was to her.

Oliver Twist (Indrans) wants to be tech-savvy and become a better companion to his two sons who spend more time on their phones than with their loved ones.

Being brought up in a conservative family, Jaya feels even more trapped when she marries Rajesh, a male chauvinist. How will she break free from these shackles? (Hulu.com)
