Madambu Kunhukuttan

Somadattan (Suresh Gopi), the eldest son of renowned scholar & Hindu priest Devadattan Somayajippadu (Narendra Prasad), heads an Atheist society & believes his father spreads superstition. He also blames his father for the suicide of his younger brother Chitrabanu (Jayaram). When Devadattan is called upon by the villagers to do the great ritual of "Athirathram", to bring rain to the parched village, Somadattan ridicules it & challenges his father to give up his priestly life, if it doesn't rain.

Battling a degenerative eye disease, Ajayan (Dileep) tries to make ends meet for his wife Safiya (Priyanka Nair) & son Deepu (Sidharth). When Safiya gets pregnant a second time, they abort the child to give more love & attention to Deepu. However, when Deepu goes missing after a bomb blast & the couple is overcome with sorrow, they reminisce their abortion decision & think of Deepu's disappearance as payback for it. Ajayan embarks on a long & harrowing search to find his son.

A baby girl with supernatural powers, Rudra, is born in the house of Thirumangalam, to Aniyan Thampuran (Biju Menon) & Ammu (Indraja), per a premonition by Aniyan's uncle (Madambu Kunhukuttan) & the patriarch of the family. An evil sorcerer, Chudalan (Siddique), dons the disguise of a gardener to enter the family, with the intention of destroying Rudra. As a counter-force, a good sorcerer, Thalakkulathu Nambi (Suresh Gopi) also shows up as a Kalari artist, to stop Chudalan & to protect Rudra.

Krishna Prasad (Jayaram), an elephant-lover, has his life revolving around elephants & temple festivals, to the detriment of his own life where he is constantly in penury & is treated as irresponsible by his own family. When the famous captive elephant of his village, Manpulli Arjunan, meets with an accident & his owner decides to put him down, Prasad takes up the care of the elephant in return for its ownership, which worsens his already bad financial situation.

Jeevan Mashai is the last in the line of a family of Ayurvedic physicians who run the 'Arogya Niketan' treatment center in the village. The gifted Jeevan, who does his treatment through 'Nadi pariksha' or pulse examination, can feel the pulse of people & diagnose their malady, its severity & its fatality. Simultaneously the subject of respect & anger, Mashai faces a skeptic in the form of allopathic doctor Pradyut (Vijayaraghavan) who is convinced that Mashai is a quack & is manipulating people.

Melina (Malavika Wales), a French citizen of Indian heritage, comes to Kerala to find the whereabouts of her Malayali father, Unnikrishnan (Vineeth). Years ago, Unnikrishnan had had a romantic affair with her mother Romi Michel (Irina Jacobi), a French lady who had come to the Kalamandalam dance school in Cheruthuruthy, Kerala to learn Kathakali.
