Based on the novel by Wilson Rawls, this is a story of a boy, Billy Coleman, who sets his heart on acquiring his own hunting dogs. After months of hard work, Billy saves up enough to purchase two young pups named Old Dan and Little Ann. He trains them to hunt racoons, and eventually enters them in the annual hunting contest.
