Lo Wan-lin

A film in the "healthy realism" tradition of mid-20th-century Taiwanese film, "Our Neighbor" tells the story of a young girl, Pearl Lin, and the family that takes her in after her mother dies of an untreated illness. The family experiences hardships, including trying to send young Pearl to school, while next door a prostitute and her pimp/boyfriend discover that you reap what you sow.
