In this mystery, an insurance investigator must find the arsonists behind the burning of a warehouse. The detective does get some good photographs as evidence, but they are stolen from his apartment. Jack Holt does his usual Jack Holt thing in the Columbia quickie Flight into Nowhere. Holt is cast as airline pilot Jim Horne (amusingly, considering that the actor was deathly afraid of flying in real life), who hopes to run his own South American transport service. Horne's ace flyer Bill Kellogg (Dick Purcell) annoys everyone with his braying arrogance, leading Horne to "punish" Bill by preventing him from going on a particularly dangerous mission. Two cowboys save ranchers from a railroad right-of-way land scam.

During the latter stages of the Civil War, a gang of supposed Confederates, headed by Alex Morel (Lionel Atwill), raid all gold shipments destined for Washington from Oro Grande, California. In the first chapter, "Murder By Accident", Captain Steve Clark, is recognized as a Union Secret Service agent by Morel's accomplice Trina Dessard, and, with his friend Idaho Jones, is ambushed in the baggage car and sent to almost certain death when the car is un-coupled and plunges down the mountainside.

In this one, the hero is an investigator sent by the U.S. Army rather than the Texas Rangers, but the roots show quickly. During the Civil War, Union Army Lieutenant Steve Nolan and Corporal Banjo Bonner are assigned to trail and capture "El Vengador/The Avenger", outlaw leader whose band is stealing herds of wild horses before they can be delivered on contract to the Army.

While working in a defense plant, Patsy (Merkel) is rendered unconscious-or at least, more unconscious than usual. While knocked out, she dreams that she's a fearless detective, teamed with tangle-tongued Parkyakarkus on the trail of bank robbers.

When a typhoid epidemic is shrugged off by Hazard as a mere summer ailment. Meade then takes on the task of overcoming superstition, opposition, ignorance and herbal remedies , in order to save many lives. And nearly gets lynched in the process.

Mine owner Jackson Decker orders his manager to obtain Tom Bailey's milling machinery no matter what the cost. When Bailey is found murdered, suspicion naturally falls upon the mine owner and his son, a Canadian Mountie, is ordered to find the real culprit. He joins forces with a French-Canadian constable, Bailey's beautiful daughter and a phony palm reader to learn the truth and discovers a secret gold mine, a double-crossing casino owner and a forger at the bottom of the conspiracy.

Cowhands Whip Wilson (Whip Wilson), Texas (Fuzzy Knight) and Jim Bannon (Jim Bannon) are heading for a California vacation when Jim gets a letter from his brother, Bob (Kenne Duncan), saying he has struck gold on his property and wants Whip, Texas and Jim to help him work the claim.

Jim Bannon and his partner own a stagecoach line. With the coming of the telegraph and the end of the Pony Express, two men plot to take over and get the new mail contract. When Jim's partner is murdered and Jim's name is written in the sand beside the body, Jim is arrested. At his trial Whip brings surprising evidence that clears Jim and the two plotters are soon arrested.

Jim Bannon is back as enduring cowboy hero Red Ryder in Eagle-Lion’s Roll, Thunder, Roll. As ever, Ryder’s cohorts are Little Beaver and the Duchess, here played by “Little Brown Jug” and Marin Sais. This time, Ryder tries to prove that a series of cattle raids and ranch fires were not the handiwork of masked Mexican do-gooder El Conejo.

Johnny Mack Brown, operating out of the Marshal's office, poses as a band bandit and stage robber, aided by his friend, stage driver Clancy, in order to learn the identity of a gang that has been pulling off stagecoach and bank robberies. The gang is headed by widowed ranch owner Ma Posey and includes Blackie Marshall, Deuce Logan, Tad and a traveling bank examiner, Fleming, who tips the gang off on money movement.

Matt Boone kills Bull Clark in self defense in a crooked poker game, and leaves Waco as he is certain he would not get a fair trial. He joins an outlaw gang led by Curly Ivers, whose lieutenant is Lou Garcia, a killer. Following a bank holdup in Pecos, Matt is captured. Two of Waco's leading citizens, Richards and Farley, pay the Pecos sheriff the reward Waco had posted for Matt and bring him back to Waco. There, they tell him they want him to be the sheriff and drive out the lawless element.

As he dies from the wounds received from the Morrow outlaw gang, the sheriff of King City, Texas hands his badge to his deputy, Tod Merrick. In the Morrow gang are Bart Morrow, his son Steve and Ed Mason. Texas Ranger Johnny Mack Brown is assigned to the case. Johnny meets Tod who is also visited by Bart, who is his father, who once forced Tod to help in a bank robbery before Tod left and tried to make a new life under an assumed name.
