Major Mahadevan (Mohanlal) is the head of an elite command force who is in charge of fighting the country's terrorist groups. Havildar Jaikumar (Jeevaa) is Mahadevan's most trusted lieutenant. An Afghan nawab, heading a terrorist group, plans to blow up the famous Hazrathbal shrine. 'Paradesi' is the story of Valiyakaththu Moosa (Mohanlal), an Indian Muslim who moves from the Malabar region of Kerala, India to Karachi, Pakistan during the British Raj in search of a job. Post-partition, he returns back from Pakistan & settles down in Malappuram, Kerala. This man, who lives as a true Indian, doesn't get his Indian passport & thus an Indian identity, even after 50 years of Independence. The police harasses him & his friends in a similar situation as Pakistani spies.

After the eccentric & genius filmmaker Siddharthan (Mohanlal) dies in mysterious circumstances, his son Aadi (Anoop Menon), returns years later from California to relive the memories of his father. After meeting with a few of Siddarthan's old friends, Aadi becomes convinced that his dad was killed, & that it was not a suicide as he had originally thought. Aadi sets out to unravel the mystery that was his father & to seek out his killer.

Sekar (Vikram) grows up adoring Chinna (Prakash Raj), a gangster who always used to fight against injustice. As an adult, Sekar joins Chinna's gang & aided by Sekar's bravado, Chinna grows to the top, overtaking mobster Periyavar (Raghuvaran). Periyavar, who used to be the bigger of the two, takes this as an insult & a gang war ensues between Chinna's gang & Periyavar's gang. Meanwhile, the new Commissioner of Police (Ashish Vidyarthi) plans to wipe out both gangs via 'Operation Bheemaa'.

Ravindranath (Mammootty), living with his Hindi-speaking wife Seetha (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) & two daughters in Bhilai, had left home for 18 years. When his coworker Hameed (Vishnuprakash) dies in an accident at the steel plant, Ravi & family finally comes to Kerala, accompanying Hameed's body. Reaching home, what Ravi saw was his hapless mother Lakshmi (Kaviyoor Ponnamma) surrounded by greedy & selfish family members. Not willing to let his family go to ruins, Ravi tries to set things straight.

Sivankutty comes to Coimbatore in search of Unnikrishnan (Suresh Menon), a well-off stock broker, who lived with his wife Lata (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) & daughter Lakshmi (Nivedita), with the aim of taking Unnikrishnan back to his village to clear his name in front of his estranged wife & daughter, over a murder he was alleged to have committed when he was in the 7th grade, but which was really perpetrated by Unnikrishnan & pal Alex Varghese (V.G. Muralikrishnan), now a thriving doctor in Palghat.

Dr. Balagopal (Mohanlal), a gynecologist at the Allied Hospital, tries to stop a group of terrorists who have planted bombs in 5 major cities in Kerala, & who have taken Home Minister Sakhriya Thomas (Shivaji Guruvayoor) & his new-born child, hostages.

DIG Daisy Wilfred (Vani Viswanathan) investigates the serial murders of 3 girls, Linda Disuza (Pavithra), Aathira Nair (Althara) & Srada C.K. (Teena Ponnappa), members of a gang of spoilt, rich female medical students & the related accidental death of Linda's boyfriend Vivek Aravindakshan (Arun). With the killer after the rest of the gang, Daisy have to stop him before he takes his next victim.

Kasaragod Kanakambaran (Jayaram), a poor drama actor, goes to Kanthapuram palace for a day, at the behest of Upendra Varma (Janardanan) & Radhakrishna Varma (Raghu), disguised as the long-lost heir to the palace, Suryanarayanan. The idea was to please Kanchanalakshmi (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy), Suryanarayanan's wife from his child marriage, but Kanakambaran gets stuck there when Kanchanalakshmi doesn't let him leave. Meanwhile, Kanakambaran's wife Marthandam Bharathi (Karthika) comes looking for him.

Gopan (Jayaram), a poor small time videographer, marries Asha Lakshmi (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy), a rich girl, against her family's wishes. When Asha Lakshmi, a talented dancer, gets noticed by famous dancer Maya Varma (Bhanupriya) & given the spotlight, Gopan feels sidelined & unloved & leaves town with their infant kid Ashok. Landing in Goa, Gopan takes up a job at a gas station & sets up a new life there.

Mathews (Mohanlal), a farmer, tries to protect his 4 acres of land after Aluva Chandy (Lalu Alex), a rich land grabber tries to oust Mathews & his family under the pretext of building a township in the village of Kodanad. With Chandy, the system & the villagers against him, Mathews fights back with the help of lawyers Sunita (Lakshmi Rai) & Prabalan (Sreenivasan).

An ex-constable, Balaraman (Mohanlal), leaves Andhra Pradesh with his daughter Ganga (Ayilya) after he is blamed for the death of a Naxalite leader, Abdullah (Samudira Kani), & his supporters kill his wife Kaveri (Sneha). 15 years later, living out in the deep jungle village of Chittazha in Kerala as a truck driver, just as Balaraman begins to breathe easy is when he learns that the newest generation of naxalites have closed in on him & his daughter.

Ramesh Prasad (Manikuttan) who dotes over his single-mother Nandini (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) who had brought him up after his father's suicide, looses his cool in a college function after Home Minister Nateshan slanders Nandini & beats up Nateshan. With the cops & Nateshan's party members out for Ramesh's blood, he is protected by Lekha (Madhumitha) & Julie (Honey Rose), 2 best friends who were also his best friends. That same night, Nateshan is murdered & the blame for that too falls on Ramesh.

Bhaskaran (Kalabhavan Mani), an illiterate trucker, wanting to give his son Kunjunni (Ashwin Thampi) the education he didn't have, takes him to Ooty, & enrolls him in one of the top schools there. However, when Kunjunni takes a fancy to a sophisticated & rich stranger, Anand (Biju Menon), gets close to him & starts calling him "Daddy", Bhaskaran feels like he was losing Kunjunni.

Saddened at being cheated by his girlfriend Meenakshi (Lakshmi Rai), accountant Madhavan Nair (Mohanlal) sets out to kill himself, but his plan flops & he ends up in the desert with hapless pal Abdu (Mukesh). After some aimless wandering, they stumble across Eleana (Bhavana), a rich heiress who had hatched a plot to extort a fortune out of her rich dad Thomas Varghese (Nedumudi Venu). At Eleana's behest, Abdu & Nair pretend to be Eleana's kidnappers & demand a big ransom from Eleana's dad.

Vivekanandan (Jayaram), struggling to pay off his father's debts & his own, finally he decides to rob a house to raise cash, but ends up entering into a contract with the owner of the house Harinarayanan (Suresh Krishna) to kill his wife Devika (Mallika), as Harinarayanan suspected Devika to be having an affair with his womanizer friend Venkita Krishnan (Kailash). Vivekanandan, along with his friends Najeeb Kecheri (Sudheesh) & Keshavan (Anoop Chandran) try to get close to Devika.

Aymanam Sidharthan (Fahadh Faasil) is the ambitious local youth wing leader of a political party. However, his dreams are shattered when he is bypassed for the nomination for the MLA seat. At this time, a Canadian citizen of Malayali origin, Irene Gardner (Amala Paul), visits Kerala to shoot a documentary & Sidharthan joins up as her assistant. Later, Sidharthan comes to know that Irene has actually come to India in search of her biological parents & Sidharthan joins in her search.

Unni (Jayaram), a masterful chenda (a drum) player & a married man who had no interest in his own wife Kalyani (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy), is drawn to dancer Nalini (Kadambari). They have a short, but torrid affair, but they are pulled apart by Nalini's brother (Siddique), who marries Nalini off elsewhere. Unni turns into an alcoholic with deteriorating physical & mental health, whilst Nalini's new husband (Vineeth) turns out to be someone who thinks & acts like a woman.

Georgekutty (Nedumudi Venu), a gruff old man recuperating after a heart attack, leads a lonely life in a large house with only a male servant, Paappi (Mammukoya), for company, while his only son, Alexander (Vijay Menon) is settled in the US & never bothers to visit. A home nurse (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) comes to take care of Georgekutty & slowly wins over his heart as she nurses him back to health, which angers Georgekutty's relatives who had been planning to enjoy his assets after his death.

Mathai (Jayasurya), an auto-driver who often intervenes in others' personal issues needlessly, tries to resolve a conflict between a doctor, Dr. Nandagopan (Mukesh) & his wife Geetha (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy), but ends up complicating the matter further.
