Dr. Selvam joins Saktivel college with the joint responsibility of History professor and Vice Principal. Seeing that the college is under the grips of Ramesh (Reghu), son of dreaded politico Veluchamy & their goons, Selvam fights back. Meanwhile, English professor Vasanthi (Gautami) develops a soft corner for Selvam.

Although married to Leelavathi (Kalpana), Arunuchalam aka Arun (Ramesh Aravind) embarks on a love affair with the much younger, unmarried & pretty Priya (Heera Rajgopal). During a trip to Bangalore, he runs into an old friend, Dr. Shaktivel (Kamal Hassan), to whom he is forced to reveal his illicit affair, & who promises to keep it a secret. However, a video taken by Shaktivel's son gives away the secret to Leelavathi. Forcing Arun out of the house, she vows to end his relationship with Priya.

Best friends Eby (Kunchako Boban) & Sona (Shalini) were born on the same day, grew up together, are neighbors & goes to the same college. After they had to stay apart for a week for the first time, Eby develops feelings of love towards Sona, but stifles them, afraid of Sona's response & also because Sona had responded to overtures from college mate Prakash Mathew (Boban Alumoodan). Struggling contractor Dinesh Kondody (Jayasurya) sells a house he partially owned to Paramu Nair (Narendra Prasad) to get cash for his share & ease his financial woes, but a resurvey of the land leaves half of the house in Kerala & the other half in Tamil Nadu. The part in Tamil Nadu comes under the ownership of Peria Thevar (Thalaivasal Vijay) & his niece Sundari (Girly) starts living in that part of the house. Dinesh starts living in the other side & soon they are scheming to evict each other.

Bala Govind works as a crime reporter in MAA TV. He gets into a fight with the men on local goon Tamni Durai. Then he goes to Kulu Manali to cover a travel program as Tamnbi Durai's people search for him in Hyderabad. There he meets Vaishali and falls in love with her.
