Crocodile Gena and Cheburashka decide to go to the sea on vacation. Shapoklyak steals their train tickets, and so they are kicked off the train. They stop hikers from poaching, and a factory from polluting the environment.

Gena the Crocodile works as a crocodile in an urban zoo. Every evening he returns home to his lonely flat. Gena gets very tired of playing chess against himself and decides to find himself some friends. Animals and people respond to his advertisements that he posts throughout the city. First comes a girl named Galya with a homeless puppy, then followed by her, Cheburashka. They decide to build the common house for them all, but the treacherous old maid Shapoklyak prevents them in different ways.

A mother rabbit and her three kits are playing in a field. A little girl comes across one of the kits and steals it, dressing it up and playing with it as if it were a living doll. While the girl is distracted, the three other rabbits come to the rescue.

After Cheburashka fails to meet him at the airport, Gena realizes that Cheburashka does not know how to read and decides to register Cheburashka for school. (imdb)
