Coast Patrol was a threadbare silent 5-reeler starring Kenneth MacDonald as an officer in the titular patrol. Nothing much happens really, except for a few misunderstandings, fistfights and boat chases. The film was, from all reports, well photographed; too bad there wasn't anything truly worth photographing. Spottiswoode Aitken, once one of the stalwarts of D.W. Our hero Jimmie March works for stockbroker E.J. Philips and daydreams of romance with Eleanor, the boss's lovely daughter. Unfortunately, Eleanor is dating Mortimer Fenton, a wealthy cad who used to push Jimmie around in college. To add insult to injury, Jimmie gets fired. All seems lost until a gypsy fortune teller foretells that he'll make a bundle playing hunches in the stock market. A wealthy banker wants to tear down a tenement slum to build a factory, but a charming girl who lives there begins to persuade him to change his mind. A crooked bank employee and one of the tenement dwellers are stealing bonds from the bank. When they are about to be caught, they try to frame the girl and her boyfriend, and the bank employee attempts to force himself on the girl.
