    Onna doshi
Onna doshi (1955) - Short Film
Naruse's reliance on actors is underlined by the roles of Takamine Hideko and Uehara Ken in a short film that Naruse made in 1955 as part of a Toho omnibus called The Kiss (Kuchizuke). The other two shorts in the complication are by Suzuko Hideo and Kakehi Masanori. Naruse's half-hour segment is called "Women's Ways," and it is interesting to see how he turns his marriage theme into a light comedy within which Takamine manages to add a level of melancholy through her performance.
