Mukundan (Sreenivasan) procures a job at Thottakkal Arya Vaidya Shaala, the same firm where his wife Seetha (Kasthoori) works, claiming to be single & portrays his wife as his pal Govindankutty's (Jagadish) wife. This complicates life for Govindankutty, who is struggling to marry his "murappennu" Gayathri against stiff competition from his rich cousin Phalgunan (Salim Kumar). Phalgunan teams up with Raghavan (Cochin Hanifa), Seetha's "muracherukkan" who has sworn to kill whoever marries Seetha.

The propeller aircraft of Indian Army officers Capt. Suresh G. Nair (Suresh Gopi) & Capt. Rajiv Kumar (Vijayaraghavan), on their way to the naval base to deliver some top-secret documents, comes under bad weather & crashes over the jungles of Thevarkottai. Inaccessible due to geographical challenges & resistance by indigenous tribes, the army turns to skilled commando, Capt. Roy Jacob Thomas (Mohanlal), who now has to set aside his personal enmity with Capt. Suresh G. Nair, to rescue them.

A 4 year old girl, Deepa (Geethu Mohandas), strikes up a relationship with a stranger, whom she came to call 'Telephone Uncle', over phone conversations. Initially apprehensive of the relationship, Deepa's widow mom Aleena (Asha Jayaram), also grows fond of the stranger, who soon becomes an integral part of their lives, even without meeting in real life. However, unbeknown to them, the stranger carried a dark secret.

Kasaragod Kanakambaran (Jayaram), a poor drama actor, goes to Kanthapuram palace for a day, at the behest of Upendra Varma (Janardanan) & Radhakrishna Varma (Raghu), disguised as the long-lost heir to the palace, Suryanarayanan. The idea was to please Kanchanalakshmi (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy), Suryanarayanan's wife from his child marriage, but Kanakambaran gets stuck there when Kanchanalakshmi doesn't let him leave. Meanwhile, Kanakambaran's wife Marthandam Bharathi (Karthika) comes looking for him.

Gauri (Vidya), a +2 student is raised by her struggling laundress single mother Madhavi (Kalaranjini), with the hopes of making Gauri a doctor one day. However, circumstances cause Gauri to have an brief fling with a much married man, Chandran (Biju Menon), after which Gauri gets besotted with him & ends up ruining both their & their families' lives beyond repair.

Manaf Hussain (Kalabhavan Mani), noted painter & dramatist, plans a play based on the story of Puranic king Yayati, which was also supposed to be a metaphor on modern day society. Also part of the project was famous actress Madhuri (Althara). Because Manaf had the power to move people, the prospect of Manaf's play irks some local politicians who tries to stop the project, with the help of the conniving lead actor of the play, Baburaj (Boban Alumoodan).

Prakash (Jayaram), a TV producer & a married man, starts an affair with Krishna (Renjini), the daughter of famous musician Aaditya Varma (Nedumudi Venu). In a quirk of fate, Krishna & Prakash's wife Sumithra (Parvathi) both become pregnant at the same time & Prakash is forced to become a bigamist & juggle the two women.

Anil Kumar Bokaro (Minon), a class V student in the village of Kaviyoor, Thiruvalla, gets an assignment from his teacher Mukundan (Indrajith) to come up with 101 questions about his surroundings & the life around him. As the highly observant Anil goes about coming up with the questions, the situation at his home slowly deteriorates as his father Sivanandan (Murugan) loses his factory job & his mother Sati (Lena) struggles to feed the family with her meagre income as a manual laborer.

Jeevan Mashai is the last in the line of a family of Ayurvedic physicians who run the 'Arogya Niketan' treatment center in the village. The gifted Jeevan, who does his treatment through 'Nadi pariksha' or pulse examination, can feel the pulse of people & diagnose their malady, its severity & its fatality. Simultaneously the subject of respect & anger, Mashai faces a skeptic in the form of allopathic doctor Pradyut (Vijayaraghavan) who is convinced that Mashai is a quack & is manipulating people.

Dr. Jacob Kurien (Tovino Thomas), a corrupt doctor selling medicine illegally, in the middle of striking his latest deal with his buyer Chettiyaar, gets a hostile buyer in the form of Aniruddhan (Joju George), who kidnaps Jacob's family & holds them for ransom. As Jacob rushes with the medicine to free his family, ACP Thara Mathew (Aparna Gopinath), trying to snare Jacob, joins him as a hitchhiker. Meanwhile, Chettiyaar's men, led by Altaf (Chemban Vinod Jose), are also in hot pursuit.
