The DVD title - "The Lure of Hollywood". Marian Nixon plays a girl who doesn't want to settle for second best. She is offered chance to be a model and jumps at it. Her boyfriend is upset--he just wants to marry her and settle down to a life of domestic bliss. But she has stars in her eyes--and soon learns to use publicity to create a new movie star persona. "Tailspin Tommy" Tompkins and "Skeeter" Milligan are training young U. S. Army fliers for the newly-formed 'Sky Patrol,'a branch of the Army Reserves which operates along the borders and coast-lines, on the lookout for smugglers. Carter Meade, whose father is the Colonel in charge of the patrol, has a terror of firing guns and his father insists he conquer this fear. Tommy sends him out on patrol, on orders from Washington D. During World War I, Rin-Tin-Tin finds that he must rescue his master, a fighter pilot, from his wrecked aircraft. He also has to help him escape his rival, who has ordered him shot so he can have the girl they're competing for all to himself.

Carl Behrend, son of a wealthy businessman, marries Pauli Arndt, daughter of a pacifist professor. When World War I breaks out, Carl is drafted. Pauli and her family and friends are left behind to experience the suffering which befell civilians during the war. Her father is dismissed from his professorship for teaching that war is evil. He argues violently with Carl's father, and degradation and despair descend on Pauli and her family as they await Carl's return from the front. (imdb)

During the Russian Civil War, Lya seeks refuge from Cossack soldiers at the palace of Prince Nicholas. She becomes his majordomo and they fall in love, but Nicholas expels her after learning she is a revolutionary and the former mistress of the Bolshevik leader Zaneriff. After returning to her home village, Lya becomes a terrorist. She reencounters Nicholas in disguise as a servant after the Red Army captures his palace. After he is discovered and sentenced to death, she rescues him.
