A virtual remake of Republic's 1942 "Call of the Canyon", this one has Jimmy Wakely and his sidekick "Lasses" White running into trouble when they attempt to hire some cattle cars on the Cattleman's Railroad to take their herd to market. Rancher Joseph Colton (Stanley Blystone) has bought up all the cattle cars and intends to purchase the penniless line from principal stockholder Gywnn Randall (Jennifer Holt). (imdb)

Gils Brandon and his outlaw friends buy the ghost town of El Dorado which becomes a boom town when gold is discovered. When Gils gets into more trouble his twin brother Buck finds him just before he dies. Seeing the resemblance, the Sheriff suggests that he will go to El Dorado as Buck's stooge Sheriff and Buck will return posing as his brother and together they will clean up the lawlessness. (imdb)

Outlaws attempting to kidnap Steve Blaine from a stagecoach are ran off by the sharpshooting of his sister, Sally and rescuers Jimmy Wakely and Cannonball Taylor. Steve is investigating his father's sudden death after charges of theft from the Sloan/Carson mine. Marshal Blackjack Flint wounds Slade, who tells Derringer that lawman Flint is wanted by the law and, unknown to Anne, is also her father. Derringer than kills Slade and begins to blackmail Flint. Ranchers have been having trouble with outlaws and Jimmy has been sent to investigate. When a rancher is murdered the culpit is jailed but the only witness is killed before the hearing in what is claimed to be an accident. When a rancher is framed for murder, Jimmy uses the same tactic and kidnaps the only witness. But the outlaws say that if their witness does not appear they will kill the rancher when he is released. Jim Malloy returns from the Civil War to Texas to find his father, Colonel Malloy, leading a band of land grabbers and carpet-baggers during the Reconstruction Era. Curly Blake, nephew and heir of wealthy Red Rock rancher Jed Gordon, persuades his uncle not to invest in a crooked land scheme promoted by former judge Harmon Steele and his secretary Lem Martin. Thinking Curly has cheated in a poker game with Tom Blaine and Carter, Gordon disowns him and invests with Steele, not realizing that the latter has paid Blaine and Carter to frame Curly. Later, realizing that Steele is a crook, he confronts Steele, who kills Gordon with Blaine's gun. (imdb)

Mining executive Neal Wallace arrives to investigate the losses at a gold mine and is immediately framed for murder. The murderers then incite a lynch mob but the Sheriff lets him go. Wallace eventually convinces the Sheriff of his innocence and the two then work together to get the gang that is looting the gold ore. (imdb)

Rancher Blaze Barker returns to Dead Falls after being framed by land-grabbers and spending two years in jail. Paroled, he can't wear a gun, but is aided by Marshal Fargo Steele. The gang is out to gain control of all of the valley land before a dam is constructed. When Blaze raises the money to pay off the taxes on his ranch, he finds it has been marked to incriminate him. Jimmy and partner Dusty have bought a ghost town in the Cherokee strip. When they arrive they find their other partner Lasses has sold 51% to four crooks. The four then fake a gold rush to bring in people. Jimmy's plan is to have the strip annexed to Texas but when election day arrives the outlaws control the ballot box and also seal off the town to keep others away. (imdb)

Produced by Ken Murray strictly as a vehicle for Laurie Anders, his curvy protégé from his television show and billed above the title and first billed in the cast as Laurie ("I-like-the-wide-open-spaces") Anders, which was her catch-line phrase and how she was introduced and known. This is neither a comedy, satire or parody---missing badly on all attempts at such---and isn't much of a western either, even by bottom-of-the-barrel B-standards. (imdb)

Old West outlaw land-grabbers start trouble between settlers and native Californians.

Finding Dale's wallet, Denny returns it just as two men shoot each other with one dying and one escaping. Dale blames Denny for the murder and Lasses has to pose as the Sheriff to free him. Trailing the wounded man they learn he and Dale are Government Agents. Jimmy, Denny, and Lasses now join up with Dale and soon find themselves involved in a gold bullion smuggling racket.

State Commissioner Walton is uncertain about making Rainbow's End the new county seat after the Drago brothers, Matt and Slip, hold up his tage and beat up Sheriff Sam Oldring. Jimmy Wakely rides into town unaware that his pal Cannonball has been telling fictitious tales about him as being an outlaw known as the Melody Kid. Jimmy knocks out Slip Drago when he becomes unruly in the restaurant run by Judy Joyce, who refuses to feed Jimmy because she thinks he is the Melody Kid.

Doris Rogers, half owner of a dude ranch, as Jimmy Wakely, "Lasses" White and Dusty Smith to help run it. U.S. Marshal Tom Logan, posing as a stage driver, is killed during a mock holdup of new arrivals to the ranch. Brenda Amers and Horatio Pennypacker, eastern jewel thieves, bring their loot to Roy Williams, who owns the other half of the ranch as a blind for his gang which resells stolen jewels. Vaughn, the desk clerk, re-cuts the jewels in a secret room in the ice house.

Jimmy Wakely and Dusty, traveling with the medicine show owned by "Lasses" White, stop at the Ferguson ranch and find the rancher and his wife killed. They take the Ferguson baby to their camp, where outlaws Joe, Slick and Pete attempt to kidnap the baby, while Dusty is reporting the murders to Sheriff Beasley and town mayor Melinda Pringle. Wakely and his singers hide the baby from its legal guardian, Doc Judd Thomas, as they suspect him of being connected with the Ferguson murders.

After the Texas Rangers are disbanded, the the reconstruction years following the Civil War, a private state-police force extorts money from the citizens in a "protection" scheme. Ex-Rangers Jimmy Wakely and "Cannonball" Taylor foil an arrest by state-police officers Hamon and Kelly. Commissioner Jed Brant tells his nephew that his old friend Jimmy is plotting against the law-and-order forces. Vic's fiancée and ranch-owner,

Cowhand Jimmy Wakely gives a stallion, "Spooky", to 16-year-old Perry, vacationing with rancher Aunt Jesica, who has taken the boy from the Sheriff's Association School. Prospector "Mossy" Stevens is murdered by claim jumper Sanders and a henchman. Chased by U. S. Marshal Bill Braden, Sanders forces Perry to change clothes with him and then he escapes on "Spooky." Perry chases Sanders but is shot by Braden who thinks he is the outlaw being chased.
