This well-liked series was a drama/soap set in a hospital. It attracted attention for its portrayal of an interracial relationship between surgeon Louise Mahler (played by Joan Hooley) and Doctor Giles Farmer (played by John White), showing the second kiss on television between black and white actors in July 1964,[3] the first such kiss being in a Granada TV play You in Your Small Corner in 1962.

Douglas Baines, a wartime army deserter, is lying low in a shabby flat with his girlfriend Daisy and the couple's small son, Jiffy. Returning home with a toy for Jiffy's second birthday, he learns that Daisy has had the boy adopted. When she refuses to tell him where the boy is, he strangles Daisy and goes on the run. (imdb)
