A documentary divided into 3 different chapters treating war in different aspects. "The bridge", "ABC" and "The uniform". The stories are linked together by a small fictional scene including two soldiers in no man's land during World War 1. The subject of the film seems to be how war affects the minds and the psyches of all implicated individuals. A mix of interview, aestethical documentary and fictional devices.

A philosophical documentary that investigates the power of words: poetically, politically, religiously, through the lie, etc. There is line of prominent politicians and authors (mainly) as Salman Rushdie, Vaclav Havel and Paul Auster that all add experiences and thoughts to the investigation of this very human phenomenon. The film has come to possess a somewhat prophecy-like quality as it in 1994 captured the essence of one of modern days global politics' biggest issues: fundamentalism.

It's a story about Denmark. The film is built up around a group of stories, with some bigger than other. There's no interaction; it's a pure fly-on-wall documentary about everything that characterizes DK as a country: a young boy goes to war, a couple awaits the birth of their first kid, a family struggles to find meaning living as fugitives in an asylum camp. The mosaic structure gives the film its form and the very thin red line is the country that they all share.
