This is one of the French comedies made in the early '70s featuring the musicians-turned-comedians, Les Charlots. They play a group of inept but good-hearted fellows who help a small market owner compete with a large supermarket across the street by shoplifting enough from the big store to enable the smaller store to carry on. The store owner is able to re-do his little store and, though it offers little competition to the larger one, he is bought out for a lot of money. (Allmovie)

Paris, 1840. Whilst driving his fiancée Irène home in his horse-drawn carriage, the Marquis Rodolphe de Sombreuil accidentally knocks down a poor man in the street. Believing the man is only slightly injured, Rodolphe gives him a purse containing some money as a recompense. But the man dies not long afterwards, leaving his wife and daughter Marie desolate. A version of the Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, completely revisited and perfectly burlesque, in which the Charlotts play the servants of the Musketeers in order to defeat the plans of Cardinal Richelieu, his damned soul Father Joseph and Milady de Winter, and bring back to the Queen her iron-clad diamonds, which she imprudently offered to the Duke of Buckingham.
