Popeye is heading over to see Olive when he hits a traffic island where a cop is directing traffic; when he gets there, he manages to get more tickets for blowing his horn and parking illegally. Popeye, feeling sorry for the puppies in the window of Olive's pet shop, buys all the animals (mostly dogs) and sets them all free. All except for one bird, who refuses to go, singing the title song to explain why he likes it just fine in the shop. Popeye has replaced Bluto in the Spinach Theatre's production of Romeo and Juliet (Olive, of course), much to Bluto's surprise and dismay. Olve brings her new goldfish onto Popeye's ship, but the fish jumps out of its bowl and into the sea. Olive convinces Popeye to go after it, but the fish wants to play and manages to avoid Popeye until both get trapped inside a jellyfish. After taking a severe pounding from the jellyfish, Popeye eats his spinach, takes on various other marine life, and returns the goldfish to its bowl. But Olive can see the fish is unhappy in the bowl, and sets it free again, which is more than Popeye can stand. (imdb)

Bluto, desperate, dives out the skyscraper window; Popeye tries to catch him, but they both plummet through the sidewalk, and the devil chases them back out of hell. A rooster sultan is bored by his harems. A duck strongly resembling Mae West entices him. Her lover arrives, and they do battle; the lovers leave, and the sultan, humiliated, turns to his harem, who beat him up. (imdb)

Filmed in Technicolor, it gives us a goose barber shaving the quills of a porcupine, a male lion getting a manicure (by grindstone!), a giraffe putting on a succession of stiff collars, a female hippo painting on lipstick, and a bear hair stylist applying a "permanent" to a female elk's antlers (a neat trick since female elks aren't supposed to have antlers). At the wedding ceremony, a monkey uses its tail to chime the flower "bells," a hen sings "Love in Bloom," and a peacock officiates. (imdb)

Baby Huey, the over-sized duck, is enrolled in kindergarten but his size and clumsy attempts to fit in causes such havoc that he is expelled by the teacher. His mother then hires a private tutor, who is led a life of misery due to Huey's efforts to do good that unintentionally backfire. But the tutor winds up in the ocean---unless Huey lived on a shark-invested lake---and and is about to become a shark meal but Huey saves his life...and gets his diploma as a reward from the grateful tutor. A young horse says hi to little donkey Spunky. But the horse's mother pulls him away, saying we don't associate with that kind. Spunky makes a few more overtures, and eventually they set off on a chase, running across a bull from time to time. The horse stops to eat a lot of apples and drink far too much water; this leaves him too bloated to move much at all. Hunky is teaching her son Spunky how to kick properly. She has him practice with a mattress propped against a tree. Spunky befriends a family of birds who are building a nest. His fellow ghosts bring Casper up on charges for breaking the Ghostly Laws ,since he will not scare people, and he loses his ghostly powers. He realizes he needs to do something drastic, so he, disguised as a man, invades a meeting of ghosts planning a scare-campaign, and gives them a taste of their own medicine. He regains his standing in the Ectoplasm Society.

Katnip opens a pizza parlor right next door to where the little mice live. As the aroma of fresh pizza drifts into the gym, the mice can't resist. Cousin Herman tries to make Chubby slim down so that Katnip won't get him. Herman is getting the mice in condition to run when they make a raid.

When the citizens decide to each enter an animal in the County Fair contest, Casper picks a pig as his choice, though the pig is not real happy leaving his mud puddle.

Casper, the Friendly (and always helpful) Ghost, finds a lost crate containing Ozzie, a baby ostrich. Casper tries to deliver it to the address on the crate while the baby ostrich is eating up everything in sight. After finally completing his mission, Casper realizes that he has delivered Ozzie to a taxidermist's shop, and he must rescue Ozzie. (imdb)

Two writers at Paramount Cartoon Studios try to think of good stories for Casper the Friendly Ghost. They review scenes from "Casper's Spree Under The Sea," "Once Upon A Rhyme" and "To Boo Or Not To Boo." Eventually Casper himself emerges from a poster on the wall and scares the writers away. Casper explains that he thought up that gag to end the cartoon!

Herman the mouse and his little mice pals are having a good time in River City's pool-hall, that doesn't have a billiards table anywhere in it...and that spells trouble when mice are playing pocket pool, and it soon arrives in the form of Katnip Kat looking to cause some disturbance. A band of little mice have come out to play and to enjoy the pleasures offered at the seashore. But, just as sure as this is a Noveltoon, the villainous Katnip the Kat shows up with intent of making certain no mouse, mice or meece in the area enjoys anything. Baby Huey, the man-sized duckling, wants to play circus with the regular-size ducks, and they trick him into a barrel which almost goes over a cliff. It doesn't but it puts him into the hands of a hungry fox, who tries all manner of tricks to make Baby Huey palatable. Katnip is making life miserable for Herman's little mice cousin, so he takes them to a tropical paradise island where there are no cats, and the little 'meece' are very happy...until Katnip makes an entrance. Popeye and Bluto are on leave in the South Seas when Princess Alona (Olive) comes surfing by in her Sarong, a bird perched on her knee. The boys are smitten, and chase after her. The bird warns our boys that any harm to the princess will result in death from the local volcano. (imdb)

Popeye and Bluto own adjacent shipyards. They are given the plans for a battleship; whichever finishes first gets the contract for the fleet. Bluto does his patriotic duty by refraining from his usual sabotage; his own incompetence provides much of the entertainment, until the end, when Popeye finishes first. Bluto, the daring hot air balloon rider, catches the eye of Olive at a carnival, much to Popeye's chagrin. Bluto manages to make Popeye look bad several times, eventually winning a ring at the ball toss and taking her up in his balloon. Of course, he tries to get fresh with her, and Popeye comes to the rescue with the help of some fireworks. The hot air balloon gets a bit too hot, putting Olive in even more danger. (imdb)

Join the Minstrel Show on the farm where animals show their talents. The audience asks for something from the seller. Watch for the gag where he uses his mouth to carry the items on sale. Follow the bouncing ball to sing "Camptown Races."

Popeye and Olive are atop the highest peak in Yellowstone Park; Olive falls off into a deep hole, where a caveman and dinosaur are still living. Olive almost ends up in the dinosaur, but the caveman (longing for a woman) saves her. Olive falls for him, but Popeye, noticing Olive's absence, comes down and saves her from the caveman. They fight it out; the caveman stuffs Popeye into a not-quite-empty spinach can and feeds him to the dinosaur, but of course, Popeye breaks out and wins the day.

Winter is nearing its end. The snowmen are melting. Soon it will be spring: a time for renewal, with flowers sprouting, trees getting back their green, and various animals shedding their winter coats, coming out of hibernation, and singing the "Spring Song."

Herman gets back at Knucklehead from cat college Quinston for crashing the Harbard (the mice's college) Alumni Dinner.

A traditional Native American grandfather disapproves of his young grandson's hep cat ways, and tells the boy about how the grandfather was a great hunter as a young boy himself.

The vegetables and fruits stage a vaudeville show that headlines such acts as The Cabbage Brothers, Miss Rosie Apple, and the Nacy Beans who do a hornpipe dance. The really-Big Show opens with Carrot Crooner crooning "Let's Get Lost," while a couple of Peaches swoon. Comedian Corn Cob's act is so corny that he is razzed by the Berries, sitting in a prominent box.

A burlesque of a movie newsreel as it kids some typical events that were happening at the time; Gloria Gorgeous christens a new ocean-liner which promptly sinks; and a 200-foot high statue of Longfellow is unveiled. It winds up by introducing a new singing cowboy, who promptly tells the audience to 'follow the bouncing ball" and sing "Jimgle, Jangle, Jingle" along with him. Some audiences did, and some didn't.

A re-working (uncredited) of a 1930 Fleischer cartoon which visits the insect world and shows a dragon-fly who breathes fire, a horse-fly that whinnies and sports a saddle, and a raccoon-coat carried away by moths. A flashing glow worm, getting ready for a night out on the town, leads to the "follow-the-bouncing-ball" request to the audience to join in on a sing-along of "Glow Worm."

All the animals are having a jolly-good time at the county fair; the ducks are riding the ferris-wheel while the elephants are quaffing peanuts, and a real-friendly cow is selling kisses at a buck each, and getting some takers. All the animals than go boat riding but are caught in a sudden rainstorm, which is the cue for the bouncing-ball to come bouncing along, and ask the audience to follow-the-bouncing-ball in group-singing "Wait 'till the Sun Shines, Nellie."

Little Audrey, by accident, hits the beat policeman while playing baseball on the street with her puppy. The policeman sends her to play in the park, where she gets into a motorboat, which sinks. The policeman, forgetting he can't swim, dives in to rescue the little girl. Audrey saves herself, and, seeing the police officer in danger, has the zoo elephants drain the lake. The grateful cop stops street traffic to play baseball with Audrey.

A view of pre-historic days when the dinosaurs were the beasts of burden for the cavemen, and slapstick gags on that premise, that provides the cue for the introduction of the bouncing ball to come along and ask the theatre audience to sing along on "Sweet Adeline."

This "depicts" the development of the American railroad, in cartoon (kartune) form from 1829 into the 1950s. When it gets to the streamliner era, they bring out the bouncing-ball which invites the audience to join in singing "I've Been Working on the Railroad."
