Ivan Bratanov

XIII century. The story follows Ivaylo, discontented Bulgarian, who rises against at first the Mongols, who are attacking the Bulgarian lands; and later the inadequate Bulgarian tsar. He manages to defeat both of them and is crowned as the new tsar.

A large balloon suddenly appears above villages and fields and grabs the attention of the peasants. They start liking the sudden guest from nowhere for the beauty of the free existence. A policeman comes and the dreams of freedom vanish. The film was banned from the communist regime from 1967 to 1990. (imdb)
