The Anti-Terrorist Cell of the Kerala Police is led by the vibrant and daring Baba Kalyani (Mohanlal). When an e-mail is received that an attempt would be made to assassinate a VIP visiting the state, Baba Kalyani and his team sets out on a hunt. Though the e-mail proves to be a hoax, the group gets a hunch that some terrorist activity is being planned in the State, and that a group of terrorists has moved to Kochi from Thiruvananthapuram. Cuba Mukundan (Sreenivasan) is an 'impractical idealist.' He is a staunch leftist who lives for the movement. Circumstances force him to take up a job in Dubai. But he finds himself a misfit in a highly materialistic world. He has always had a soft corner for China as a result of his leftist leanings and when he meets a Chinese girl, she quickly finds a special place in his heart as she symbolizes China to him. Unni (Dileep) tells his family that he is working in the Gulf but in reality, he runs an illegal spirit business with Bhai (Murali) in the Valayar area and is known there by the notorious name of "Valayar Paramasivam". Unni, however, confesses about his real job to Gopika (Kavya Madhavan), whom his mother is insistent that he should marry. Trouble starts brewing for Unni when his brother Balu (Indrajith) becomes a police officer and gets transferred to the Valayar area.

'Sorakalyanam', a Malabar custom where friends of the bridegroom make fun of the bridegroom & the bride by playing practical jokes on them, forms the backdrop for the film. Professor Iyer (Balachandra Menon), who organized the reunion, & Pius (Indrajith), Suku's best friend in college, together, reminisces the college days & tries to unravel the secrets behind what happened to Suku.

Madhavan Nair aka "Meesha Madhavan" (Dileep), a petty thief in the village of Chek, woos his arch enemy Bhageerathan Pillai's (Jagathi) daughter, Rukmini (Kavya Madhavan), & after some initial spats, Rukmini also falls for him. Bhageerathan Pillai tries to foil the relationship, with the help of the new SI, Eppan Pappachi (Indrajith). Then one day, the local temple idol disappears & suspicion falls on Madhavan. With the whole village after him, it's up to Madhavan to prove himself innocent.

Pappan's (Innocent) eldest son Appukutta Menon aka Appu (Mammootty) had been the backbone of the successful business empire Leela group, but gets sidelined when his younger brother, London-educated Hari (Indrajith) who had an eye for profits rather than sentiments, applies multiple reforms in the firm. When business rival Sivan (Saikumar) tries to break apart Leela group using honey trap Veni Warrier (Sindhu Menon), leading to Hari killing Veni's accomplice in a scuffle, Appu takes the blame.

Balu (Aju Varghese), who goes to Chennai for an interview gets kidnapped & the kidnapper demands Rs. 10,000 in ransom, to be delivered into Balu's bank account in 2 hours. Balu contacts his friend in Kochi, Kishore (Indrajith), an ad filmmaker, for the money. Balu, en route to reconciling with his estranged wife Surya (Mamta Mohandas), is forced to put that aside & run around Kochi to arrange for the money.

On the day of festivities at an apartment complex, 8 people - lift operator Thampuran (Indrajith), cop Siyad Ahmed (Ganesh Kumar), builder Sam Christy (Baiju), his wife Prasanna (Ramya Nambeeshan), an alkie writer Edathil Govindan Nair (Prathap Pothen), techie Sooraj (Ranjith Menon), his girlfriend Mitra (Sruthi Menon), a US-returnee Cherian (Nandu) - & a kid (Devaraman) get stuck in a lift. While there, they find the body of a girl on the roof of the lift, & Siyad tries to solve her murder.

Anil Kumar Bokaro (Minon), a class V student in the village of Kaviyoor, Thiruvalla, gets an assignment from his teacher Mukundan (Indrajith) to come up with 101 questions about his surroundings & the life around him. As the highly observant Anil goes about coming up with the questions, the situation at his home slowly deteriorates as his father Sivanandan (Murugan) loses his factory job & his mother Sati (Lena) struggles to feed the family with her meagre income as a manual laborer.

Archeologist K.V. Prasad (Vineeth) comes to the forests of Wayanad for an excavation project, where he meets his old girlfriend from college, Bhanu (Bhavana), now the wife of a rich planter & hunter Gopinatha Menon (Indrajith). Shortly after Prasad's arrival, a man-eating tiger goes on the prowl in the forest, claiming several victims. Gopinath decides to hunt down the tiger, while stuck in an unhappy marriage, Bhanu reminisces about their past with Prasad.

Madhavan (Indrajith), a simpleton shopkeeper leading a mundane life, is torn between two rival powers as he becomes the sole witness to a grisly murder. Peringodan (V.G. Muralikrishnan), the murderer, tries to stop Madhavan from testifying, whilst Thomas (Joy Mathew), the father of the person who was killed, tries to force Madhavan to testify against his wishes. Madhavan's whole life, including his arranged marriage to Gauri (Archana Gupta), is jeopardized as a result of this tug of war.

Siddharth (Indrajith), a creative executive at an advertising agency & his friend, dancer Veena (Ramya Nambeeshan), try to solve the mystery of their friend Icha (Nivin Pauly) who starts to appear before both of them at the same time. They seek the help of a friend, Sudheer Bose (Prathap Pothen), who researches on folklore & parapsychology.

'Vedi Vazhipadu' depicts the events in a time frame of 24 hours on the Pongala festival day at the Attukal Temple. 3 friends, bank cashier Sanjay (Saiju Kurup), investor Pradeep (Sreejith Ravi) & video game tester Rahul (Murali Gopy), have made secret plans for the day when their wives will be away at the festival. On the said day, the friends gather in Rahul's apartment. They have booze & a prostitute, Sumithra (Anumol), & plan to enjoy themselves. However, things don't go as planned.

After rising concerns about cancer, the Kerala government bans gutka (chewing tobacco) in the state & appoints an 'Anti-Gutka Squad' lead by cop Shambu (Indrajith), who ruthlessly cracks down on the migrant workers in the state who were widespread users of it. This leads to a group of youngsters to enter into the gutka black market, & when Shambu busts that ring, they start a noodle business. Meanwhile Shambu was on the lookout for Bada Bhai (Sunny Wayne), the main supplier of contraband gutka.

Brothers Sam (Kunchacko Boban) & Joji (Indrajith) along with their cousin brothers Pauly (Suraaj Venjarammoodu) & Tony (Joju George), decide to go on a trip to Sam's old college, in an attempt to regain Sam's memory of his 6 years of college life, which he had lost in an accident. En route, at the village of Chandragiri, they come across characters from Sam's past & learn that Sam had married the sister of the local bigwig Nagaraj Veerappan (Pradeep Singh Rawat) & they were awaiting her return.

B.K. Menon, a business tycoon based in Doha, Qatar, wishes for his daughter's wedding to be done in a traditional Kerala style feast. Menon & his friend movie star Mohanlal (himself) invite famous chef Valliyottu Thirumeni (Nedumudi Venu) to take up the catering for the wedding reception. Thirumeni, his son Balashankar (Indrajith), & family go to Doha, but circumstances force Balu to take over from his father after Thirumeni falls ill.

SP Hameem Hyder (Indrajith), a cop investigating a series of 2 murders which seemed to be related, has an encounter with the killer as he tries to stop the 3rd one, but which leaves Hyder incapacitated for months. His unfinished investigation becomes the focus of a reality show called '3 Eye' where a priest Fr. Varghese Punyalan (Joy Mathew) confesses to the murders. However, Hyder, also invited to the show, refuses to accept the priest's confession & tries to solve the murder on live TV.

When the Chief Minister of Kerala P.K. Ramdas (Sachin Khedekar) unexpectedly passes away, his party Indian Union Front (IUF) becomes leaderless. As a bunch of people tries to replace him, his adopted son Stephen Nedumbally (Mohanlal) has to protect Ramdas's daughter Priyadarshini (Manju Warrier) & her daughter Jhanvi (Saniya Iyappan), from Priyadarshini's ruthless husband Bobby (Vivek Oberoi).

Haider (Indrajith) recruits a couple of petty thieves - Nicholas (Vinod Chemban) & Freddy (Vinay Forrt) - to rob a clothing store called 'Kohinoor Textiles', which was used as a front for diamond smuggling by stitching diamonds onto dresses, which were then shipped overseas. Freddy in turn sub-contracts the task of opening the store's safe, to Andikunju (Aju Varghese), a seasoned lock-picker. Andikunju meanwhile colludes with his childhood pal Louis (Asif Ali) to steal the diamonds.

3 friends - Amar (Prithviraj), Akbar (Jayasurya) & Anthony (Indrajith) - from poor families living in Fort Kochi, go about their daily lives goofing off, getting drunk & chasing girls, especially the neighborhood girl Jenny (Namitha Pramod). However, their lives take a serious turn when a young girl known to them, Pathumma (Meenakshi), goes missing & later turns up dead after being sexually molested.

Melvin Phillip (Kunchacko Boban), who is arrested on suspicion of 2 murders which he hadn't actually committed, traps his interrogators - IPS officers Sreebala (Manju Warrier) & Xylex Abraham (Indrajith) - into killing 2 people Melvin did want to kill.

Shubha (Bhama) always dreamt of marrying someone based in the US, but she is tricked into marrying Vinayan (Indrajith) who was based in Kenya. Shubha is tricked to move to Kenya, but after an initial outburst, she reconciles with Vinayan & settles into a happy life. However, soon afterwards, they both get embroiled in a mess where they are forced to kill a tribal leader's son in self-defense & go on the run from the tribals & from an internal criminal called Anton Kulasingham (Murali Gopy).

Vimal Kumar (Indrajith) & Mustafa (Biju Menon) are 2 convicts who escape into the jungles after the police car which transported them crashes & they survive the crash. Vimal, determined to escape to find out the person responsible for the death of his fiance, seeks the help of Mustafa to do it, without realizing that it was Mustafa he was looking for.

Pattabhiraman Giri (Indrajith), a Malayali Brahmin who lives in North India with his family, is ordered to leave his house by Mahashay Bhagavan (Murali Gopy), a godman, for building his ashram & claiming the surroundings for a land mafia. Giri protests & defeats Bhagavan with the help of Aslan Mohammad (Prithviraj), an enlightened fakir.
