Ilavarasu

The picture is about a series of comic clashes between Nalla Sivam (Kamal Haasan), a wise-cracking, handicapped communist and Anbarasu (R. Madhavan), an arrogant young advertisement filmmaker, that occur when both happen to get stuck with each other on their problem-filled trip home to Chennai from Bhubaneshwar.

John Vaseegaran (Vaseegaran), a young business magnate & one of India's richest men, also happens to be a kleptomaniac, who steals an expensive diamond during an expo, bringing suspicion on Vidya Sadagopan (Priyamani), the girl who was in charge of the diamond during the expo. To prove herself innocent, Vidya takes up a job as Vaseegaran's secretary, to retrieve the diamond. Vaseegaran, who was obsessed with the story of Cinderella from his childhood, starts seeing his Cinderella, in Vidya.

Karthik (Dulquer Salmaan), a Brahmin, & Riya (Malavika Mohanan), a Christian, both of whom hailed from the same town, fall in love & elope to Ooty. However, a couple of days later, they fight over a small issue & split, after their egos get the better of them. They vow never to talk to each other again, but they end up with jobs at the same firm where they are forced to work together again. Warming up to each other again, they realize they still had feelings for each other.

The film is based on street cricket played in India, focussing on various themes as friendship, love and rivalry in a suburban area. The film's title is derived from the pincode for Mandaveli, a suburb of Chennai, where the story takes place.
