The aristocratic Krag refuses to let his daughter marry the bourgeois Carl Vedel, even though the whole family begs him to permit the match. Fortunately, several opportunities for persuading the stubborn patriarch suddenly appear. For example, it turns out that he regularly visits the manicurist Stella in town, and he will have to account for that.

Karen Wang and her beloved Kai Ørn live happily together. However, just as he’s about to propose, a serpent slithers into the paradise: Viggo Eibye, who’s a bad man, also wants to marry Karen. For financial reasons, she says yes to the marriage, but before the wedding day, Viggo dies in mysterious circumstances. Wang and Ørn are suspected, and two men are put on the case – the brusque detective Engberg and a cunning reporter, who may be able to explain how these cases are actually intertwined.

An infamous criminal couple, nicknamed ‘The Hotel Rats’, have long haunted the hotels of the city. As yet, no one has been able to best the cunning nocturnal thieves. One day, the proprietor of a hotel recently visited by these unwelcome guests turns to Sherlock Holmes for help. But the ‘hotel rats’ are not easily captured, and Sherlock Holmes must use all his cunning, putting his life at stake to lure the criminals out into deep waters.

A lazy sculptor squanders his advance and has to think outside the box to meet his deadline. At short notice, the sculptor has received the task of carving a copy of the famous statue “The Swimmer”. However, due to time pressure, one of the sculptor’s students has to replace the marble and become a living statue. Will the costumer see through the sculptor’s deceit?

Baron Preben is an unfortunate man – at least when it comes to the ladies. He has long waited for an opportunity to declare his true feelings for his good friend Ida. So when a romantic rival shows up during Midsummer celebrations, Preben has to propose sooner than he would like. One thing’s for sure – before the end of Midsummer, Preben and Ida will be engaged, but not to whom they expect.
