The four-mast boat, the Padua, sails into Hamburg's harbor. Jens, Fiete and Karl go on land to visit their friend Hannes, one of the their former colleagues aboard the Padua. Hannes now works as a singer at the famous Hamburg Hippodrom. Just as the four friends are celebrating their reunion, Hannes receives a call that his brother is in the hostipal dying.
