During the christmas celebration at Bals', his two daughters become secretly engaged to the two young students visiting the house. Meanwhile the old aunt Pose is doing her best to ruin everyones moods but secretly wants to get married herself.

An orphan, Josefa, runs away from her threatening uncle with whom she is living, and stows away on traveller Fændrik's boat. She is no better off with him, however, as he forces himself on her and makes her steal and beg for a living. Meanwhile Fændrik's sister, who has been left penniless on shore by her deceitful brother, joins forces with Josefa's fiancé, Oscar, in a search for the missing pair. (imdb)

Trysil-Knut is a Norwegian film from 1942. Directed by veteran Rasmus Breistein and is a ski themed melodrama about the legendary skier Trysil-Knut from Trysil. He is a powerful patriot, who in the early 1800s prevents that a war breaks out between Norway and Sweden using his skiing skills. While that goes on Knut is also preparing a court case of fraud to determine the ownership of his fathers old farm.

Based on the novel "Marit Skjølte" by Kristofer Janson, this Norwegian silent movie tells the story of young Marit and her love, Anders, who travels to America to seek his fortune. Without Marit's knowledge, he returns to marry a farm heiress. (imdb)

Gjest Baardsen was a well-known clever thief around 1800. He takes from the rich and gives to the poor, and is feared and loved. No chains can hold him. He once saves the girl Anna from being married to an old man and later from the accusation of a small theft. They run away together disguised, and live as outlaws in the mountain for some time. They love each other, and Gjest decides to take his punishment in prison so that he at last can be free and live together with Anna as a law-abiding man. (imdb)

The film is based on the story The Emperor Felix written by Gustav Aagaard, rewritten for the film by Gunnar Nilsen-Vig, who also photographed the film. Rasmus Breistein directed the film.

Petter and Kari meet, fall in love, and get married. But it is not easy for a young couple of limited means to find a place to live. Moving in with Petter's parents proves impossible, Kari can't endure her mother-in-law's constant interference.
