In the blasting heat of a Friday afternoon in Cairo, a group of people representing the whole of Egyptian society - among them a movie star, a thief, a madman, a cook and a pregnant woman - find themselves trapped in an elevator for 12 hours.

This comedy revolves around Wahid (Fouad el Mohandes), a happily married composer/lyricist who has a one-off dream about kissing the gorgeous singer/neighbor (Hind Rostom) he collaborates with. He feels guilty, and foolishly confesses this to his naturally suspicious wife Latifa (Shoueikar) who instantly concludes they are having an affair. This is worsened tenfold when Latifa lets her parents (Mary Mounib and Youssef Wahby) in on the situation.

Farid Shawqi plays the role of a man who regularly divorces one of his four women in order to marry a new conquest. Thus he meets Azhar (Hind Rostom), a young woman with a well-tempered character.
