Miraculously, his prayers are answered when the premesis vanish and reappear on an island in the North Sea. The miracle is picked up the world's media and soon is exploited by many in the town. The Catholic Church struggles to come to terms with the events and the monk soon contemplates whether he should have even asked God for a miracle at all.
