After a few words from Gary Cooper and Harry Carey, a look at Rogers' fatal trip with Wiley Post, clips from Rogers' movies, a proclamation from Oklahoma's governor, and a cowboy ballad sung at sunset. Robert Taylor asks the studio audience to contribute to the Will Rogers Memorial Hospital in Saranac Lake, NY, where those in the entertainment industry could go for treatment.

    Small-town sheriff Pat Halahan, goes to see the sights in San Francisco, where he captures a pretty burglar, Faith O'Day, when she attempts to rob his room. Pat talks to Faith, and she agrees to give up her life of crime. Pat then takes it upon himself to return a brooch Faith has stolen that same evening. He is detected while putting it back in a jewelry case in a woman's boudoir, and detectives follow him back to the hotel.

    Steve Packard is the ne'er-do-well son of an Arizona ranching baron. Upon his father's death, Steve returns from his days as a South Pacific beach bum to protect his father's estate, which has fallen into the hands of Steve's estranged grandfather. The grandfather's foreman, Joe Blenham, attempts to wrest the ranch from Steve's rightful inheritance, whether the means are legal or not.

    Texas Ranger Bill Storm is sent to El Paso to ferret out a gang of counterfeiters thought to be working there and, on the way, gives a ride to New York socialite Beverly Dix, whose car has been wrecked on the road to El Paso. Bill quickly comes to suspect Earl Hanway and Lefty Waterman of passing bad bills; taking Beverly’s father into his confidence, Bill identifies the counterfeiting plant, arrests Hanway and Waterman, and finds himself with his arms full of Beverly.
