As only the second horror film to be made in Pakistan - and the first to be granted an adults only X certificate - K H Sarfraz's Zinda Laash or The Living Corpse presents a fascinating take on the vampire myth and, in particular, Hammer films' 1958 Dracula (AKA Horror of Dracula).

Madan (played by Dev Anand) is a former cabbie who is a genius at gambling. His sister becomes sick with tuberculosis and to pay her hospital bills, he's drawn into a life of crime.

The setting is the 16th century, in the Malabar area on the west coast of India. There was a young woman called "Baaz" (hawk), who rose in revolt and led her people against Portuguese rule. Cooperating with the prince of the domain kingdom, she began a battle to drive the Portuguese back. Kishinchand has taken to a life of crime, namely that of forging passports, and for that is under surveillance by the police.
