Tradition ist die Weitergabe des Feuers und nicht die Anbetung der Asche
The new trailer for Filmarchiv Austria by Gustav Deutsch is shorter than a minute and shows pictures of burning houses from the early days of cinema. The pictures themselves have begun to decay, are “burned”, even though the damage to the film was caused by water. The music is contributed by Christian Fennesz, the Viennese electronic champ. It makes us feel the cinema as well as the fire and at the same time one can sense a new approach to museum relics. (gustavdeutsch.net)
