John Smith is an accountant at a stockbroking firm, where the firm ends up in the liquidity crisis because of his managerial speculation with the firm's money. The bank wants John to take over leadership of the company.

A Swedish comedy from 1937. At castle Gyllenskiöld Holm a lawyer reads the deceased Count's will. Son Rouglas inherits the estate in front of Anne-Marie, Countess's daughter and the woman whom the testator had hoped to Rouglas would marry. But there is a supplement in the will to be read out after six months.

At a parish meeting its decided that the village should hire a common home help. When Elsa Haglund arrives from Gothenburg she starts her first week of work at one of the bachelors homes, the village shop-keeper Sjökvist. He is immediately infatuated by her and begins a flirtation. At the end of the week Elsa happens to meet another bachelor, Eric Broo, called "the singing farmer". She falls in love with him, but doesn't know how to hook him.

An extremely kind bailiff in Gamla Stan (Old Town) of Stockholm helps out "clients" in difficulty by supporting them with money from his own pocket. His neighbor is a jazz musician who plays in the evenings at a restaurant for a living. (imdb)

Skipper Larsen and his assistant Ole, are planning the season's seal and bear-hunting trip to Spetzbergen with the ship "Viking". Ole is interested in the daughter of the house, Ingeborg.

Harald Handfaste is a 15th century Swedish Robin Hood, who fights against foreign oppression. He becomes the leader of a band of highwaymen and they start dealing with the evil bailiff. However, the bailiff will stop at nothing to catch Handfaste and show the people who is in charge. He even attempts to marry Handfaste's beloved Karin, and when she refuses to subdue, the bailiff decides to execute both her, her father and a monk who has been helping them.
