Band leader Jack Conrad is impressed by prison inmate Ray Ferrera on saxophone. Conrad hires Ray to join his band and tour upon his release. Because of a fight at a dog show between "Smoky" and "Shadow", Alsatian Shepherd dos, owned and trained by Judy Weston, "Smoky" loses first prize.
