Hugo passionately loves his wife Gina, but it's not reciprocated. Obsessed by the idea that she hates him, he begins to have horrible nightmares during which he's in a forest and is always questioned by a ruthless police chief. Hugo confuses dreams and reality, in a confusing series of events, and ends up committing the almost-perfect crime.
