Jim Rayborn has been doing most of the work of father Clay's farm, yet couldn't convince him to switch from cattle to sheep. For Jim's mother's funeral sister Lisa returns from New York and learns her alleged fashion career was a lie. She forces Clay to adopt a sheepdog and becomes friendly with the Vet. The sheepdog proves to be talented but a forest fire leaves her a disabled hero.
