The latest crime wave has Scotland Yard baffled. Commissioner Hope sends two of his officers to the Midnight Club to check up on a couple of shady characters - Colin Grant and Arthur Bradley and a girl, Iris Witney. There have been a number of jewel robberies around town recently, but, unknown to the police, these three have the perfect alibis! They have found "doubles", and while they are out committing the robberies, their doubles spend the night at the club. (imdb)

A large urban hospital provides the setting for this drama. The staff there has seen it all and this is reflected in their hard-bitten demeanor, their cynicism, and the cruel jokes they play. One of them, an excellent surgeon gains a new outlook on life after he gets involved with investigating the death of a mobster, fatally shot in his hotel suite during a card game.
