Ganesh Venkatraman

Raghuraman (Prakash Raj) is the befuddled father who has a hard time letting go of his daughter Abhi (Trisha), when after her studies, she announces that she is in love with Joginder Singh (Ganesh Venkatraman), a Sikh, whom she met in Delhi & wants to marry. Anu (Aishwarya), his level-headed wife, sides with Abhi, much to Raghuraman's frustration.

The film depicts an about to retire police commissioner narrating a set of events that happened one day that do not exist in any written records. An unnamed man (Kamal Haasan) places bombs strategically at several places. He calls up Marar (Mohanlal), police commissioner informing about the bombs. He wants to negotiate terms in return for divulging information about the bomb...

Based on the 1999 hijacking incident of Indian Airlines Flight 814, in this 3rd outing by Major Mahadevan (Mohanlal), he, along with a group of NSG commandos including Surya (Ganesh Venkatraman), launches a commando operation to stop a group of Islamic terrorists who hijacked an Air India flight & planned to land it in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
