Billy Turf and Dolfie have to remain in boarding school over the summer holiday because they've done so poorly. Their torment is alleviated with their invention of a pill that can change water into petrol.

With liberation in sight, a group of resistance fighters, in the forests of Limburg, decide to capture over 30 German prisoners of war. When the Gestapo takes notice of their resistance, they are forced along with their prisoners to flee from refuge to refuge.
