An unusual, somewhat emotionless scientist builds an android that looks identical to him for a mission to space. But when the PR agent that is promoting the android begins teaching it about feelings, things start to get complicated.

In Compulsion, the often larger than life Amy (Heather Graham) is a vivacious and beautiful gourmet chef who is obsessed with cooking, overeats as a bulimic and uses food as a tool to dominate, be desired and control intimacy. She has imaginary dreams of hosting her own television food show. Growing up she was infatuated with her neighbor Saffron (Carrie-Anne Moss), a former child star who is now a sad, tragic and lonely introvert.
