Matt Lindsay (Leon Errol) is the captain/owner of a showboat that is on the rocks literally and figuratively. His efforts to raise money to save his boat and troupers get him involved with a Kentucky Colonel (not named Sanders), a tough-as-a-boot hotel manager and a feuding family.

Edgar lets his brother-in-law borrow his car (mistake no.1), and soon gets a call from Brother that the car won't start. Edgar borrow's his neighbor's car (mistake no.2) to go haul in his stranded vehicle, and immediately wrecks it. Edgar, not willing to admit to Florence (Florence Lake) that they are broke, is forced by her to give Brother (Jack Rice) a $1000 check. Edgar, in an effort to get the money to cover the check, decides to pawn Florence's diamond bracelet. Edgar doesn't know that Brother (a real jewel) has already hocked the bracelet and substituted a paste one in its place.

Insane with the desire to avenge his daughter's death, Dr. Boris Karlov plots a sinister scheme of revenge against the family he holds responsible. Corrupt and cowardly Prince Gregor Petrov had given Karlov's daughter a mysterious necklace known as The Drums of Jeopardy, which is rumored to have deadly powers.
