In Lawton, Oklahoma, the Reverend Mark Wallock's younger sister and her six-year-old daughter Ginger arrive for an extended stay. When the showboat hits town, two men use the parade as a distraction to rob the bank. Their accomplice is Pop, the clown from the showboat. Patrolman Jim Trent (Jack La Rue) hears the screams of a woman and rushes to her aid in an upstairs apartment. Inside, he is hit on the head and whiskey poured on his uniform.
