This is one of Buck Jones' most unusual sound films. Cowboy Buck Benson (Jones) is incredulous to find that his father, M.H. (John Elliott), has decided to get into lettuce -- "The lettuce business!" exclaims Benson, a dyed-in-the-wool cattleman, "I'd rather herd sheep!" But when M.H.'s crop is being destroyed by racketeers (whom Benson considers nothing more than lettuce rustlers), the cowboy heads East to put a halt to the bad guys' activities. (allrovi.com)

"Windjammer" finds O'Brien as a subpoena server ordered to serve a subpoena on Brandon Evans (The Commondore) for a senate inquiry or lose his job. Posing as a playboy, he boards the Commodore's yacht during a yacht race, and the yacht is wrecked by a gun-running windjammer commanded by Captain Morgan (William Hall.) All hands are picked up by the windjammer, including the Commodore's daughter (played by Constance Worth, at her blonde, plumpish best) and put to work as galley slaves and such. (imdb)

A native son returns to the isolated, backwards village in the Okefenokee Swamp where he was raised, with ideas of bringing modern day progress in terms of schools, canals, new roads, running water, and other needed changes, but is met with resistance by nearly all of the residents, some out of ignorance, and some with selfish vested interests in seeing that no changes be made.
