Biography: Coming out of a musical family and trained as a stage actor, Don Siegel became one of the most respected directors of action films in Hollywood. He directed whatever material came his way, often transcending the limitations of budget and script to produce interesting and adept works. He died at the age of 78 from cancer in Los Angeles, survived by his son.
