Long after a nuclear holocaust, what's left of humanity is suffering from low birth rates, and creates a huge number of androids to assist and serve them. Yet there is fear and distrust between man and robot. Meanwhile, a doctor creates a technique by which man can live forever if his mind and memories are transferred into a robot's body.

Three outlaw buddies rob a bank, but one of them is wounded. His two partners and his girlfriend take his share of the loot and run off, leaving him to be captured by the sheriff. Years later, after he gets out of prison, he goes in search of his double-crossing partners and his faithless girlfriend.
