On his way to help his ex-partner, miner Sam Trotter, Brit Marshall is tricked into helping Trotter's murderers get away with Trotter's gold bullion. Arrested for Trotter's murder, Brit and his comical sidekick Ike escape and begin to track down the killers to clear themselves. Foster evades them and they to the lab to see Professor Reynolds (H. B. Warner), the real inventor.

Walter Calvert (Davison Clark) calls upon his brother Henry (Davison Clark) at his eerie old house and demands a share of the family fortune, and threatens to kill Henry if he doesn't get it. A few days later Henry's car goes over a cliff and he is presumed dead. Bob Stewart (Robert Kent, a detective whom Henry asked to investigate the matter if he should die, starts his investigation and Duke Ellis (Tim Ryan, a newspaper reporter friend is with him.

It is 1853 and settlers are pouring into California which means trouble for the old Spanish landowners. The El Dorado Mine Co. wants the land of Don Ortega for the minerals and is using the settlers and his friend Don Carlos to take the land over. But Tucson is on the side of Roberto and see's that something is not right with all the trouble they have been having. But the situation turns ugly for Don Ortega when Roberto is set up for a murder he did not commit.
