The epic story involves 12 little girls abandoned by their parents in a land populated by elephant-eating black giants with huge boobs, guru wizards, an evil witch, and her two assistant 'Yaks' (men with ridiculous ogre-like makeup and little tusks), who can grow to the size of a giant at a whim. A husband and wife off the Phra Khanong canal. With Mae Nak pregnant, her husband Mak is conscripted into military service. While he's away, Nak dies during childbirth. When Mak returns, all seems well. However, he soon learns the truth from the villagers, that he's living with ghosts. Mak attempts to run and hide, provoking Mae Nak's wrath.
