Cynthia Stockley

Based on the 1911 novel by Cynthia Stockley, this is the story of Dierdre Saurin (Claire Windsor), whose infatuation with Major Kinsella (Arthur Edmund Carewe) takes her to Africa where native uprisings and the jealous connivings of Maurice Stair (Norman Kerry) await her.

April Poole, a young writer, visits the office of Mr. Sarle and his partner Mr. Kenna and reads her latest story to them. She has made Sarle the hero, Kenna the villain, and herself the heroine. In the story, April changes places with Lady Diana, who is being sent to South Africa with a famous diamond to be delivered at the end of her journey, and this given to April. Thieves, led by Kenna, trail her during her journey, but are hindered by the intervention of Sarle.
