When the stranger Martin Poulsen arrives at a cosy little fishing village as the heir to one of the boats and a house in the harbour - and unwilling to sell - it comes as an inconvenient obstacle in the plans of the local fisherman baddie.

The first sound film from Denmark! Charles Wilken reads a poem by Holger Drachmann. Ayoe Willumsen sings "Gylden Sol" and Albert Luther sings the song about Stella. Jacob Texière reads H.C. Andersen's "Thepotten". Robert Storm-Petersen & Christian Arhoff does the drunken dialogue of "Storm og Stille". And Frederik Jensen sings "Gøgleri" and "Du skal rose din Kone".

Editor Halling is always looking for sensations in his newspaper. He believes in the principle that readers must have what they like,and he therefore notes with satisfaction that there has been a new large jewel theft, the fifth in the last 14 days. It is apparently an unusually cunning gang and the police are powerless. Between the numerous newspaper delivery is the little newspaper girl Suzanne, called Sus, and she manage a small newsstand in Adelgade.

After a gruesome meeting with the tax authorities Alex Alexander takes a drive in the countryside to calm down. While driving, he accidentally runs into an elephant from a circus. When he is stopped by the police and tells them about the elephant they think he is crazy. He is committed to an asylum by the very authorities his taxes are funding.The doctor tries to convince him that the elephants were not really there, but he gets more help from manic fellow patient Knudsen... A father and his family go on a vacation to Bornholm.

Martin is grandson and one-year-old to Næsbygaard, where he lives with his grandfather. The boy associates a close friendship with Elise, who lives with his father-in-law, the city's smith, known as a reputable and religious man. Elise does, however, argue that Martin's grandfather is malicious and makes shady business with the manager of Næsbygaard.

The old bastard landlord Martin Kaas, whose only child, Louise, ran away 15 years earlier with an Italian artist, dies with her husband in a plane crash. Pastor Pripp sends the message to him, telling Martin Kas that he has a grandson. The now orphan boy Martin arrives in Denmark. Torben has always believed that he was the only heir and now sees his chances threatened, so he does everything to bring the boy into trouble with the grandfather.

On the great beautiful estate Næsbygård resides the widower and landlord Martin Kaas. His only grandson 17-year-old Martin has returned from Italy, where his parents were killed in a plane crash. He is the only enemy of the great beautiful estate. Martin and his grandfather feel strongly connected to each other. The boy is sent to the landlord's cousin in Texas to learn about cattle breeding on his large cattle farm. The landlord's good friend Pastor Pripp comforts him in his loneliness.

A gang of thieves led by an unusually cunning criminal named Terry has been terrorizing the city for some time. The police are completely powerless, and in his embarrassment, the police director turns to a famous detective and asks him to try to expose this gang and, above all, get hold of Terry. Our two friends have set up shop in a small kiosk. As they roll home in the evening with their "house", they unsuspectingly enter a street where the detective is looking for new clues.

Although the twins Flora and Dora attend the School of Sculpture, their real calling lies in gymnastics. They decide to open an “Institute of Strength and Beauty”, which does not go down well with Uncle Brown, who finances their numerous business adventures. When he announces his arrival in town and demands to see the results from the School of Sculpture, they find themselves in a predicament.
