This movie created the basis for a major film production in Århus in years 1909-1913. In those years were in Aarhus produced half a hundred films, respectively, by A / S Fotorama and A / S Danish Film Factory. When it’s discovered that Fanny, a poor cigar worker, is frequenting the quarters of the manufacturer’s rich son, she’s banished from both home and work. All hope seems to be lost for Fanny, but her luck turns when she’s hired as a cigar roller at a cigar shop – or that’s what she thinks. It quickly transpires that the “cigar shop” is merely a cover for shadier affairs. Together with “Piphans” and other bandits, Fanny has to roll something completely different than cigars.

When he finally succeeds, he pays for it with his life – the professor’s assistant Jakobsen kills Bjørn to get hold of the valuable formula. The hunt then moves onto the professor’s daughter Rosa, who is the only one left who knows how to develop the serum. When she suffers amnesia in connection with an accident, the recipe seems to have been lost. Rosa’s subconscious mind hides more secrets than she realises herself.

Count Dörner and his son-in-law Baron Max are hunting in the forest when they come upon Zambo and Satanita, who are Roma travellers. Dörner and Max are so captivated by the eccentric Satanita that they decide to take her to their estate. It quickly becomes clear that Satanita prefers the young baron to the old count, although the latter still makes a spirited attempt to force some affection from her.
