Everything unfolds in Naples seventeenth century, when a mysterious masked swordsman who calls Salvador Rossa becomes champion of the needy and lonely struggle against the cruel tyrant that frightens the country.

A poor Spanish nobleman fights a duel against a cruel captain to save a boy's life. Since a royal edict forbids duelling during Holy Week, the nobleman is sentenced to death by hanging, but he eventually manages to escape this injustice.
