The plot concerns a joint, voluntary effort between Italy and Yugoslavia to construct a highway along the countries. Naturally, this animosity wreaks havoc on the various Romeo-Juliet romances in the region. All is resolved when oil is discovered on one of the islands. An American oil company is finally able to establish détente between the warring factions, smoothing the path for the long-delayed marriages of three young couples. (Hal Erickson)

In the meantime, Italian fascist authorities decide to eradicate five Slovenian songs with the help of local traitors.

A partisan comes secretly to town to find about what happened to his little son who barely remembers him. He is horrified when he finds out that his son is raised in a colaborators' orphanage, brought up to hate communists and partisans. He decides to take his son to the freed territory with him, but will he manage to escape the police checkings? (imdb)

Battle on Kozara known as the 'third offensive' is the hardest and most tragic battle led by the Yugoslav Partisans in World War II. In June of 1942 Germans and their collaborators decide to get rid of partisans and their stronghold in the woods of Mount Kozara in Northern Bosnia. They encircle the mountain and begin the mop-up operation. Outgunned and outnumbered the partisans must not only take care of themselves but try to protect thousands of refugees too. (krule88)
