A retired yakuza Shuji (Ken Takakura), now turned fisherman, gets dragged into his past by the arrival of a woman from Osaka Keiko (Yûko Tanaka) who sets up a bar in the small fishing village, bringing her boyfriend Yajima (Takeshi Kitano) and his troubles along.
